How to make canvas sheet or stretched canvas board at very low cost

Hello , friends today we talk about “How we can make own canvas sheet or starched canvas frame board at very cheap price for acrylic painting"For acrylic painting canvas paper, board and sheet are very important to get a textured shiny look.But if you buy from market they’re too much expensive So we’ll learn "how to make at home "

Required materials - 

1. Buckram or canvas roll or cotton cloths 
2. Strong glue or fevicol or pva glue 
3. Card board or plywood (2 or 3 mm thick) or wooden sticks ( square cross section )
4. Cutter or hacksaw , scissors and stapler 
6. Big flate brush.
Required materials for making canvas sheet

Process of making canvas sheet or stretch canvas frame board -

First of all we’re discussing about making canvas sheet step by step .

Step 1-(Cut cardboard into desired scale piece)

To make a canvas sheet  , first you decide size that you want after that take a cardboard ( easily available as packing box 📦 ) or plywood (2 or 3 mm thick , available at nearest carpenter shop ) and cut into desired size.

Step 2-(Cut buckram or cotton cloth)

Now take buckram (easily available at nearest clothes shop ) or canvas roll (also available at clothes shop or stationary shop ) or simple cotton clothes (available at shop or home ,you can use old cotton clothes like bad sheet and anything else) . Cut into big size ( 2 inch big in all direction) from cardboard size.

Step 3- (Paste buckram using glue on cardboard)

Now take strong glue ( easily available at stationary stores) and spread on the surface of cardboard or plywood . Now buckram or canvas or cotton clothe paste on it and fold the canvas from edges and paste another side from glue .

Step 4- (Apply 1 or 2 coating of gesso)

This is very important step. Now we apply coating of gesso (its very costly but don’t worry.you make at home at very low cost ,click the given link to make gesso  easily at home ) on canvas sheet .This step repeat 2 and 3 times and left to dry . Your canvas sheet is ready for a beautiful painting.

Now we’re discussing about making  stretched canvas frame board.

Step 1- (Cut four piece of square wooden stick)

To make a stretched canvas frame board  , first you decide size that you want after that take wooden stick ( square cross section based , easily available at carpenter shop )  and cut into 4 pieces desired length and width . Make a frame .

Step 2- (Cut buckram or cotton cloth)

Now take buckram (fine quality, easily available at nearest clothes shop ) or canvas roll (also available at clothes shop or stationary shop ) or simple cotton clothes (available at shop or home ,you can use old cotton clothes like bad sheet and anything else) . Cut into big size ( 2 inch big in all direction) from frame size.

Step 3- (Paste buckram on wooden frame)

Now take strong glue ( easily available at stationary stores) and spread on the surface of frame . Now buckram or canvas or cotton clothe paste on it and fold the canvas from edges and paste another side from glue and staple pins .Always remember that canvas will be stretched on the frame.

Step 4- (Apply gesso using brush)

Now we apply 2 and 3 coating of gesso and rub by sand paper. Your stretch canvas board is ready for a beautiful painting.
