Sketch of a beautiful butterfly

Hello friends in this tutorial, we will learn how to draw butterfly sketch. Here we are providing a knowledgeable, interesting and step by step easy tutorial of butterfly sketch, I hope you will thoroughly enjoy it.

Required materials -

  • Paper
  • Pencil
  • Sharpner
  • Eraser
  • Cotton earbuds
  • Paper clipboard
First, attach a piece of paper with  clip to the clipboard and sharp the tip of pencil after that follow these steps.

Step-1 Make the body

First draw a small circle to make the butterfly's head, then draw a vertical ellipse with one end attached to the circle below the circle to make the thorax.

Finally, draw a vertical ellipse again on the bottom of the previous ellipse to make the belly. All the shapes should be such that the center of all the shapes lies on a vertical axis.

Step-2 Make the outer shape of forewings

To make the shape of forewings, write digit 3 at the right side of the head of the butterfly and make the equidistant mirror image of digit 3 at the left side.

Step-3 Join the outer shape of forewings the thorax

Now join the top and bottom ends of the number 3 to the thorax of the butterfly. Similarly, join the top and bottom ends of the mirror image of digit 3 to the thorax of a butterfly.

Step-4 Make outer shape of Hind wings

To make the butterfly's hind wings, draw mirror arcs evenly spaced on either side of the butterfly's abdomen and below the forewings.

Step-5 Join the outer shape of Hind wings the abdomen

Now join the top and bottom ends of the arcs to the abdomen.

Step-6 Draw similar shape wings inside the previous wings

Now draw wings of the same size inside the wings of the butterfly, leaving some space at the edges.

Step-7 Decorate the edges of wings

Draw small circles or ellipses inside the margins of the forewings and hindwings to decorate the edges of the wings. The size of the circle should be determined according to the size of the place.

Step-8 Make Veins in the wings

Make veins in the wings of the butterfly as shown in the photo below.

Step-9 Dark the wing margin

Darken the rest of the empty space except for the circular shapes or elliptical shapes on the edges of the butterfly’s wings.

Step-10 Decorate the thorax and abdomen

To decorate the thorax and abdomen of the butterfly, draw some small arcs on the shapes of the thorax and abdomen.

Step-11 Make antenna and eyes

Now draw two arcs, with one end attached to the head of the butterfly, and mark a point at the other end of the arc. These are the antennae of the butterfly. To make the eyes, draw two small arcs inside the circular head shape of the butterfly, with both ends connected to the border of the circle and remaining space of circle(head) make dark, as depicted in picture below.

Step-12 Final touchup

At last, Using the cotton earbuds lightly darken the wings and body of butterfly.
