How to Draw a Sketch of a Florida Scrub-Jay Bird (Tutorial Part-1)

Sketch of a Florida Scrub-Jay Bird

Hello friends, This article might be of interest to you if you are one of those who loves birds. Our goal is to learn how to draw the Florida Scrub-jay bird or make a sketch of it.

Required materials -

• Paper
• Scale
• Compass or circuler object(like cork)
• Pencil
• Sharpner
• Eraser
• Cotton earbuds
• Paper clipboard

First, attach a piece of paper with  clip to the clipboard and sharp the tip of pencil after that follow these steps.

Step-1 Draw an oval shape

First, draw an oval shape in the centre part of the paper as depicted in the picture below.

Step-2 Draw an oval shape again.

Now draw a small oval shape at the top right corner of the previous shape as shown in picture below.

Step-3 Draw neck and leg outline

As shown in the illustration, join the two oval shapes by drawing two arcs, and make two legs outline at the bottom of the large oval shape.

Step-4 Draw tail feathers

Draw a tail on the left side of the large oval shape, as shown in the image.

Step-5 Make beak and complete the shape of legs

Make a beak on the right side of the small oval shape and complete the leg shape as shown in the figure. Also make a baseline at leg.

Step-6 Erase extra details from figure

Remove any extra lines or marks from the bird's shape.

Step-7 Make eye

As shown in the picture, draw a very small oval shape for the eye.

Step-8 Shade the shape

Draw darker and lighter lines in the shape shown in the picture using any type of pencil.

Step-9 Finishing of shape's shade

Using cotton buds, finish the shading of the shape.

Step-10 Make grass and complete leg shading

At last make grass and complete the legs shading by using pencil and cotton earbuds.

The sketch and drawing of the scrub jay bird are completed. If you want to make a colourful drawing of this as shown in step 11, then, after step 7, use blue, gray, black, and white colours using your common sense as depicted in step 11.

Step-11 Colour the shape of bird

If you want to fill colours in the shape of bird ,then skip step 8 to 10 and apply gray, black,white and blue colour as shown in picture.
