How to make beautiful Lavender field using Oil Pastel
Hello friends! In this tutorial, I’ll walk you through the step-by-step process of drawing a beautiful lavender field. I hope this inspires your creativity! Follow the next steps to bring your artwork to life.
Materials Required-
Preparation
First, fix the paper on the drawing board using masking tape to prevent it from slipping during the painting process.
Step-1 Create the Sky Background
Apply Light Violet
Begin by spreading light violet color across the top of your paper to create the sky.
Add Pink Rose
Next, apply a pink rose color to the rest of the sky, below the violet area.
Blend the Colors
Smoothly blend the violet and pink rose shades using a tissue or your fingers to create a soft transition.
Apply White Over the Sky
Now, apply white pastel over the blended sky to give it a lighter, softer appearance.
Blend the White
Blend the white pastel into the sky background for a smooth and airy feel.
We are aiming for a beautiful backdrop that complements the lavender field.Step-2 Create the Ground
Apply Black
To create the ground, apply black pastel in the area below the sky, as shown.
Add Dark Green
Over the black, apply dark green pastel to represent the grassy ground.
Blend the Colors Blend the black and green colors together to create a smooth, natural ground texture.Step-3 Add Stems and Leaves
Draw Stems
Using a deep green pastel, draw thin, vertical lines for the stems of the lavender plants.
Add Leaves
Next, add green and dark green lines along the stems to represent the leaves.
Step-4 Draw the Lavender Flowers
Apply Violet to the Flowers
At the top of each stem, apply violet pastel to create the lavender flowers.
Add White and Scrape for Texture
Apply white pastel over the violet to add highlights, and use a scraper to gently scrape some color off, giving the flowers texture and depth.
Step-5 Final Touches
Your painting is almost complete! Gently remove the masking tape from the edges of the paper to reveal a clean border.
Step-6 Protect your Art
To protect your oil pastel artwork and preserve its vibrant colors and texture, Use a fixative spray designed for pastels or charcoal. Hold the can about 12 inches away from the artwork and spray in light, even layers. This will help prevent smudging and protect the artwork from dust and dirt. Make sure to spray in a well-ventilated area or outside.
And that's it! You've completed a beautiful lavender field painting. For a clearer understanding of the process, check out the video I’ve provided.
